Last week we started with our ongoing design project. We are glad about the cooperation with Juan Herreros, ETSA Madrid and Roger Riewe from the TU Graz.

This year´s topic is referring to some essential questions concerning the contemporary city and the building typology of Residential Towers. Actually the development taking place in big cities like Hong Kong is also becoming an issue in Madrid, Frankfurt and Munich.

Beside the urban context, the program for living, which has to be defined exactly by each student raises the question of an appropriate and a capable structure. The design project deals with the interaction between this structure and the skin, between the outer appearance and the inner spatial solution, between materiality and a the atmosphere created. The engagement with a proper and sustainable design study is an integral part of the concept, which has to accord to the highest standards of energy efficiency.

We hope that this blog supports the information exchange between all participants of the different sites and universities.
