“Cartographic register:body involvement”

Time. Nature/Artificial. Sensory Affections.

The methodology of design is the registration of events along time. Architectural drawings change depending on the season or the

time of the day. These cartographies are activated by the presence of the body and its perception, underlining the topological

relationship between the body and the different spatial positions.

The projects try to frame and catalyse all these events and experiential situations.

Stadt und Architektur stellen zugleich Verkörperung sowie Schauplatz von Kultur dar.
Anhand ausgewählter Forschungs- und Ausstellungsprojekte bietet Esther Lorenz Einblicke in die urbane Realität von Hong Kong
und Shenzhen und ergründet dabei kulturelle Mechanismen hinter Entstehung, Nutzung und Auslöschung von Raum in den
beiden benachbarten Metropolen. Esther Lorenz, Absolventin der TU Graz, lehrt und forscht zurzeit an der School of Architecture,
The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Ihre Arbeiten wurden in der
“Shenzhen & Hong Kong Bi-City Biennale” 2007-08 und 2009-10 und auf der 11. Biennale Venedig 2008 ausgestellt

After visiting and analysing some buildings in Salzburg, we headed to Raitenhaslach for our workshop. Thanks to every one it has become an intense atmosphere of drawing and working on models. As you can see on the pictures attached the location was really more than inspiring.

We are going on study trip for two days from the 8th till the 9th of June. After making a stop in Salzburg, we head for the abbey of Raitenhaslach, where the workshop for the students of the studio will take place.
